Why Pro-Gun Bloggers and Second Amendment Podcasters Need To Up Their Game in 2017

If you are a podcaster,” YouTuber”, or blogger, you have more power than you may realize. If you are involved in the gun community/culture there is a unique segment of the world that is paying you attention. You need to think of yourself as a digital influencer. As such you have the opportunity to connect with people on a personal level. You have the opportunity to change our world.

If you want to be a player on this world stage you have to do a better job of proving content to your audience. If you don’t someone else will.

In the future, next year in particular more people will be consuming podcasts, watching videos and reading your post than previously as this medium is being accepted, and shared. As a podcaster primarily I am excited to know that things are getting better for us.

A growing minority of Americans are listening to podcasts, according to survey data from Edison Research. As of 2016, 21% of Americans age 12 or older say they have listened to a podcast in the past month, reflecting steady incremental growth since 2013 – when this share was 12%.

The down side to this is because of this growth, if you suck (your show/site/channel, the content, the quality, etc), you will lose out faster. If you want your efforts to pay for themselves you have to up your game. The best way to succeed is to learn from the mistakes and successes of others. That means you have to have a marketing strategy. It has to be more than just posting your Mp3’s, links or videos on Facebook. You want a network? Learn how to make one from pros. You want to be taken seriously in the gun industry and get more views, eyes and ears? You need to know more than you know now.

There is money to be made. There are opportunities to be had. Your unique skills translate into more than you have right now. How do I know? I operate outside the space of just my audience. Now that you have a show, channel or blog, you need more. You need training, inspiration, tips and sometimes gear.

One of the best ways to improve you is to invest in yourself by attending a new media event like podfest.us that is happening in Orlando, FL this February 2017.

It’s not all about podcasting either. Podfest Multimedia Expo is where creatives come to make their message matter. They are trying to attract independents, beginners and changemakers who come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

Their core focus is on our Education, Collaboration and the PME Community! This year they are expanding their conference and adding tracks that will be featuring YouTubers, Conference Builders, Live Streaming, Blogging, Independent Filmmaking, and Online Community Building!

If you don’t know where you are going any road will take you there.

You know how we get all giddy over new gear and guns? I have seen the same thing in the online community of influencers. An expensive microphone, new social media site or software program won’t help you if you have no strategy, goal or audience to benefit. I have big goals for 2017. Getting on iHeartRadio or Podcast One, won’t make you better. You have to do that from within.

I plan to go to Orlando for this Podfest.us event to rub elbows with folks that are doing it better so that my efforts are fruitful. Do you get where I am coming from? And if you can’t make that one. Check locally for podcast meet-up groups, blogger and digital influencer focused events to increase your skill level.
